Manchester dentistry 2026

Is there already a manchester dentistry 2026 page? So we can see when interview invites or rejections happen like last years page? There is one for medecine but couldn't see one for dentistry. Apparently medecine rejections from Manchester came out yesterday or something and they think invites to interview maybe next week.

Great, thanks. When did dentistry ones come out last year?

I think some time mid December ish. On a previous years thread someone mentioned 11th December but I don't know how accurate that is or if they change each year depending on number of applicants? It looks like maybe they sent out rejections first though . . .which seems opposite to others idk. Am getting really anxious about how close I think i will be to the cutoff/or below cutoff now.

Especially given Manchester medecine rejection bombshell.

This is really hard to pick apart. From what i can tell the early really high rejections were all international and GEM or not meeting basic academic criteria

The home non-contextual whom correctly meets academics, is harder to see where they are cutting off but looking to be somewhere of last years plus 50? ish. Thats not a bombshell.

the "bombshell" is mainly because the medical school incorrectly predicted 1800-1900. god knows why, when last years cut off would translate to 2030 this year.

???

Yeah, it wasnt clear if all international and GEM but saw at least one person who said home 2270 B1 and had gotten a rejection. There seemed to be a general consensus that UCAT rejections were for much higher UCAT than expected. Seems to have sent everyone, including me, into a bit of a panic. But agree very hard to unpick the threads. I'm hoping your right as otherwise implications are that dentistry UCAT threshold could also be much higher for dentistry than expected. I had sort of allowed for a 50+ rise on last years numbers.

Yeah them saying 1800-1900 was a really weird thing to do. To be fair medecine also seems to get alot more applicants at Manchester year on year than dentistry. Noticed dentistry didn't make that comment tho.
And I just went on last years figures converted to this years ucat score but now thinking should have allowed more leeway and applied to Glasgow instead! Oh well will just have to wait and see.

on reddit there are many with much less than that UCAT score whom have yet to be rejected - I think that score/rejection was not due to UCAT.
Plus, there has been a big increase in medical applicants, lots of internationals and Manchester is v popular with intl and GEM applicants. Manchester invited lots or "back up" applications with their initial cut off advice. Lots of reasons for big UCAT increases that have no impact on dentistry per se

Yes I know what you mean but none of it is easy or simple - do you really want to move that far away for 5 years?

Yep, thats what I read it as too. But not sure how the batches come out - if its lower to higher thresholds then I think I'm doomed as so close now to my score . . . but if its just random might still be hope if numbers stay same??? Tho who nows how its organised??? Or is it by surname or what.

Hi, has anyone recieved a non academic form to fill out? I think it’s to do with work experience but I haven’t recieved anything and I’m getting quite worried.

maybe. who knows. I would think 2-3 days for medical applicants would mean 1-2 days to get the dental ones dealt with. Current thinking is that Manchester is doing all the rejections and then all the interviews in days/weeks? rather than dribs and drabs of both over weeks/months ?

The highest dentistry rejection Ive now seen is 2190, so 2200 cut off??
A rise of 70-ish points so far. It will be very annoying if this is due to medical "5th choice back up" applicants.
