UAL foundation of first year

I would love to attend UAL Chelsea college of arts doing fine art, I’m currently doing a UAL level 3 extended diploma in fine art, got a distinction in the first year, I also did a UAL level 2 art and design and got a final grade of merit but iv been stressing about if I should apply for foundation or first year, I know my level 3 is like the equivalent of their foundation as I was told by a women who represented them at the ucas event but im unsure and want to submit this soon

Hello! I am one of the undergraduate student reps at UAL. From the information you have given me. I believe you can apply for the Year 1 BA Fine Art program at Chelsea College of Arts with your UAL Level 3 Extended Diploma. This qualification is equal to a foundation-level qualification, which meets the entry requirements. Your Distinction and Merit grades show that you are ready for degree study. A Foundation course is typically for those who need more time to build their portfolio or skills. That doesn’t seem necessary for you.

I would say you can focus on creating a strong portfolio and personal statement that highlight your Level 3 experience and readiness for BA study. If you're unsure, you can contact Chelsea admissions for confirmation based on your grades. To contact Chelsea College of Arts admissions, you can email [email protected] or call +44 (0)20 7514 7751 for general course questions. For specific admissions and enrollment inquiries, you can email [email protected]

Please get in touch if you have any more questions on the course / student life! I wish you all the best in your application and preparation process!
