A-level subject help!!

Hi, I’m trying to pick my A-level subjects! We have to start off with 4 at our school and I know I absolutely want to do maths & econ but I can’t decide between fm, statistics and geography as my other two options.
I’m looking at finance, maths and stats and similar degrees for uni - a lot of them say further maths is ‘preferred’ so I think I might be disadvantaged if I don’t take it. However, I did sit GCSE stats a year early and got a 9 and I honestly found it very manageable, so that’s making me consider stats A-level too. But I’m worrying that econ, maths, stats and fm is too maths based and there isn’t much difference between the subjects? especially as I’d pick the stats modules for fm…
The other option is geography which is ok, I’m predicted a 9 at GCSE, I just find it a bit boring. I know a lot of people do maths, geo, econ or that + fm so perhaps that’s the better route? I’m not sure..

If anyone has done stats A-level before, is it at all similar to the GCSE? how much does it have in common with maths/fm and the stats modules? also if anyone has any other advice, I’d really appreciate it  thank you

Be careful with combinations involving stats with maths or having 3 a levels with double maths because if you change your mind on what you want to pursue you might have limited options, some unis will discount subjects if they think there is too much crossover.
With this logic from the combos of: fm and geog, fm and stats, and stats and geog, you can discount stats and fm as a combo. So geography is definitely a subject you should be taking, or a different subject which isnt fm or stats if you change your mind.
Fm will be the most suitable choice i would say, stats is quite rare to be taken so is basically impossible to be wanted by unis whereas some unis require you to have taken fm if your school offers it for the kind of degree subjects youre looking at.
You say you find geography boring… is there another subject you find more interesting that you could take instead? It’s important to do subjects you enjoy 🙂

FM and Geography.

If you are heading for any sort of Economics based degree, FM is useful and sometimes 'preferred'. Stats and Maths may not be accepted together by some Unis (overlap). Geography covers a very wide range of topics and many Unis will count it as both a social science or a science - useful.

Id go for georgrphy and further maths as your other 2. As you say, further maths is preferred. And stats might overlap too much with your others. Geography is a good subject, that covers a wide range of topics. It is a solid subject to take. And if you are already doing well in it, then that's another reason to take it.

Don't do stats A level - too much overlap with Maths and FMaths
