Homeschooling/ home education question

Hi, James here I’m in year 11 and currently to be honest I’m looking into homeschooling myself- I’m fully capable of doing it alone and I’d prefer to aswell i don’t care as much as others about interacting with others and would just like to get my GCSEs then my a levels and move on with life without having to deal with the stress I have with my terrible day to day school life I’m dealing with.
My parents aren’t at home 24/7 but I’m 100% sure I can do homeschooling by myself - I’m a very technical guy in terms of using it and learning from it, I don’t think nor have done any tests for autism or adhd but I know I think differently- I’m not trying to stand out in a way which makes me weird I’m just trying to talk right now and this doesn’t help a) school life learning and b) my mental health

Sorry if it looks like I’m ranting but I know the experts are here and I’d just like them to know my life before giving me an answer- I’m going to the gym and doing external exercises and I’m near certain this won’t change it and I’ll be able to go to the gym more often since I’m not going to be as in much stress
If it isn’t too much of your time can I please have some advice with this and what I can do

The experts are not here. Some of us can give you advice based on our life experiences and what we've seen, but please talk to your parents and your teachers for this sort of guidance as they know you best.

If you don't want to interact with others, you don't have to. But, what I would say is that A-Levels are a step up from GCSEs in terms of difficulty and you will inevitably run into moments where you will feel like asking someone for help, whether it's with content, revision prep, or guidance. Teachers are invaluable in this sense. I still remember my Economics teacher from Sixth Form - whenever I had any questions, any work that needed marking, one email and it would be sorted. I cannot exaggerate enough how much it helped me in learning personally.
Additionally, when you eventually apply to university, you will be at a disadvantage in terms of your reference and no counselor to guide you through the process. From my perspective, at least, there is only a certain amount you can teach yourself before it becomes overwhelming.

Yeah school can be tough for some. It's great that you feel confident about doing your GCSEs through self-study. But there are some things you need to be mindful of if you need to write your exams-

1.

Are you attending school regularly? If not, then you/ your parents need to take this up with the Senco to highlight your distress at school and make sure you are supported in writing your exams. Which means the school must enter you in the exams and you should not have to pay from your pocket.

2.

Paying for private exam centres is an expensive affair. So it's best you stick to your school for exams

3.

If you really can't stand your school and can't go there to write your exams then you must start looking for private centres ASAP and fill your application.

4.

Finally it might be an idea to get an assessment done. Ask your GP to refer you to CAMHS for an assessment. (Getting a CAMHS assessment is not easy as they have a very long waiting list and they prioritise patients who self harm) But if you can afford it get it done privately. People are more amenable to providing support when they see evidence. Without evidence (i.e. a medical report) it's hard to get any support unfortunately.
Good luck with your GCSEs! Hope you get all the support you need

Your biggest hurdle is cost. Exams cost a lot. Not a little... a lot.
Are you able to fund them?

My kids are / were home educated through GCSEs, and that is only affordable by spreading exams out over several years. There's no way I can afford to home educate them through A Levels.
