Is a level geography worth it?

At the moment I’m in year 12 and do bio chem econ but I really hate biology so I’m seeing if I can change to geography. I decided I should switch to geography as I enjoyed it at gcse and got a 9 and when I’m in econ some of it kind of links to human geography. After looking at the specification it looks like gcse geography but with more content and in more detail. However, I’m dreading the NEA. It just seems annoying. And I’m aware that a level geography is harder than gcse and I have to catch up so I’m dreading that. I know it’s a hard a level so I’m going to have to put the work in.

But ive been having second thoughts on whether it’s the right subject to change to I was thinking law but I really want to do geography.

Im not sure if I can change at this point as it’s near the end of November. If I can change, I just need people to help justify that geography is a good course. If I can’t change then I’m just going to have to deal with biology.

Any tips on how to revise or catch up on a level geography would be appreciated

There are no required A level subjects for Law. A few top Unis may specify 'traditional subjects' or 'an essay based subject' - the majority don't - but what you are doing is fine and both econ and geog are essay-based. Have you talked to your school about whether a late switch would even be possible?

Geography is a good subject to do.
I did it myself. I loved it, both at GCSE and A-level.
Obviously it was a few years since i did it. But i loved it.
It is a solid subject which opens various doors.
What are you wanting to do at uni?

I’m not really sure but recently I’ve been more interested in geography and environmental degrees. I’ve realised I don’t want to do anything medical.
