History a level coursework

Hi, I’m in yr 13 and haven’t got off to the best start for my a level history coursework, I’m struggling with the reading part and taking out key points in books where I don’t even know where to start. I’m getting really confused as to whether I read certain chapters or to try find certain pages through the idea I don’t know what points to take as well.
Any help?

hey there, also y13 and doing coursework!
first off, might I ask what your coursework’s on? i may have some resources depending on the topic
secondly, if you have your historians picked (if not, have a Google for some on the topic), research their backstories and stances to see why that limits them. eg Niall Ferguson calls himself a “Neo-imperialist”-that may be a limitation or a point of a value on him.
ask your teacher if you can see any past model courseworks.
have a Google for anything on the topic, and save the links of any useful websites. if you’re unsure, maybe start at Wikipedia’s footnotes.
archive.org is great for reading public domain books too!

oh and for the reading part, i usually look for the chapter that may have something on it, then skim through the pages. or even find someone who’s quoted it as a footnote online already!
if it’s old enough to have a public domain pdf, then you can Ctrl F to find certain words.
