Hi there,

Obviously, it would be unethical for us to tell you any questions for the interview itself, but here's some advice!:

Consider the 6 C's of nursing (Care, Compassion, Competence, Communication, Courage and Commitment). How have you displayed these in your life previously? In college? In school? At home or a hobby?

Consider the NMC (Nursing Midwifery Council) and why it is important.

Why do you actually want to study Midwifery? Was there a pivotal moment where you realised it was for you? Or was it a slow, gradual thing? Interviewers like to see passion and drive for a career.

What self-values do you have that you can transfer from your life now to the course and the profession?

Be yourself! Interviewers like to see individuality, self-drive and passion. But it is also about being open, honest and integral.

Take your time to answer questions! It's okay to take a breather and to think about the questions they are asking you. Don't rush, take a minute and answer when you are ready.

Don't panic! The interviewers want you to do well; they aren't trying to catch you out!

Good luck!

That's some good advice from reply 1 regarding your upcoming midwifery interview.

I think you asked me about this before in a personal message.......

Obvious nobody can give you any exact question or answers for interviews due to fairness of anyone else who's having a interview at same time as yourself.

Some examples of things to look at when researching is -
1) why you want to be a midwife
2) why you chosen this particular university for your midwifery degree
3) NMC code of practice - read as much as you can about it
4) yes learn about the 6 C's of nursing
5) NHS core values
6) what's happening with the NHS currently especially in your local area
7) how will you cope with stress if you are working a shift

8 how will you deal with a bereavement as a midwife and stay professional at the same time ( you'll be taught about bereavement as part of your degree if successful in getting a offer) unfortunately you do face this situation but very rare but you have to be prepared for it when it happens.

9 what skills have you got that you can transfer to midwifery ( good communication is very important)

And don't panic to much about being a bit nervous as the interviewer is there to make sure you get through it as they expect potential students to be sort of nervous when they have interviews.

Good luck with your interview and make sure you do plenty of research okay.... Did you get any information sent to you from the university stating what they want you to study and research prior to your interview and if so make sure you research this information as this is part of your interview.

Hello @d07k I would also advise you to read about midwifery's current changes or globally/nationally what is happening in maternity. This most likely will deepen your passion for midwifery which is an amazing attribute to have going into the interview and the course overall
