Should I drop out of year 12?

I hate everything about sixth form. I’m doing my a levels just so u can get a good job and good money but I hate it. My poor mental health is making me not turn up and be unmotivated. I just feel like I’m not in the right place but if I drop out I’m wasting all my academic potential and I don’t want to go back in a years time older than everyone else, it’s probs just gonna make things worse.

Hey

firstly slow down, its okay to feel how your feeling, and its honestly quite common

Id strongly advice against dropping out, please reach out to your college for support, you need to find an outlet like a sport, or the gym, a hobby

do you wat to go to university, or do an apprenticeship?

I want to go to uni but I want to resit year 12 next year, I don’t feel mentally well to do continue my education atm. I obviously don’t want to fully drop out just go back at a later date.

I’m in the exact same boat, I just feel so stressed out and also picked the wrong subjects. I really want to drop out this year and rejoin the next academic year. If you do decide to drop out, try to find some work experience or volunteer. Maybe revise the content of the alevels you want to do next academic year. Don’t drop out and do nothing, it will only make things worse.
To be honest, I think you should talk to your school about this, try to figure out what will be the best option. Maybe go to college and do a level 2 course.

Im currently in Year 13, when I was in year 12 I was thinking the same thing. What worked for me was before I made any decisions I slept on it first maybe for a night or a week.

Also I am really into the gym just the few hours a day I went helped me clear my mind and helped me think clearly i hope this helps.
