I’m planning to leave my course and move back home, but I’m tied into a private student accommodation contract for the rest of the year.
If I can’t find a replacement tenant, is there anything I can do to reduce the rent, get released early

You would need to speak to your landlord, but it is unlikely unless you do find a replacement.
