Required subjects for pharmacy is as follow as you should know if you are studying it.

Chemistry: This is a mandatory subject for all pharmacy courses due to the extensive chemistry involved.
Biology or Mathematics: These are commonly required or strongly recommended subjects for your second A-level. Physics is also another acceptable option.
Third A-level: You can choose another science subject like physics, or a different subject, but it should not be one that universities typically don't accept for entry, such as General Studies or Critical Thinking.

Grade requirements
Typical grades: Offers often range from BBC to AAA, depending on the university.
Higher requirements: Top universities may require higher grades, such as AAB or AAA.
Practical endorsement: Many universities require you to pass the practical endorsement in your science A-levels.

Obviously each individual university has there own entry requirements for every degree they offer.
Apparently maths is very strongly recommended for pharmacy. Yes A level maths is very useful for you okay.

I have not done pharmacy degree as I'm a qualified veterinary nurse and a registered adult nurse with NHS, I'm currently working as a adult nurse in hospital and I worked part-time in big name chemist since before I left school good few years ago now and I currently work as a pharmacy dispenser advisor.

You dont need A level Maths. You do need A level Chemistry and another science or maths subject.
If you enjoy Maths and its likely you will get a good grade then it would be a sensible choice, but it is not essential for any MPharm application.
Hi there!

Its great to see your interest for pharmacy and hopefully I'll be able to answer some queries.

For me personally, I did biology, chemistry and maths. For some of my other peers at Bath, they didn't chose to do maths.

The important thing to understand within the pharmacy profession, numbers are involved and calculation are involved as well. Hence here at Bath every year we are examined through a calculation exam each academic year and we must pass in order to progress to the next year. It is important to note there is a calculation aspect in the pre-registration exam after the foundation year. So a level maths can be helpful to contextualise so definitely pick an A-level that you will enjoy studying. Here at Bath, we have support for those who didn't study maths at A-level and have student support if we require any help as well.

I hope this help and all the best in your decision.

I got in with Biology, Chemistry and Economics, my friend got in with Chemistry, Maths and French! I went to a few Maths catch-up lectures in the first term. If you like Maths, then do it, if you don't it isn't a big deal.
