My financial hardship request got denied and I don't even have any money to buy food

I applied for financial hardship to get my maintenance loan paid early, I'm overdrawn £800 in the bank and I have no money, I've been searching for a job but I can't find work anywhere. Luckily I live with one of my parents so I don't pay housing costs but my family can't afford to give me money for groceries so I have no money for food, I've lost so much weight for it and I'm dizzy and tired all the time from lack of eating, making me struggle with my studies. I don't know what to do

I forgot to put that it got denied because I will struggle later in the year but I quite literally cannot afford to eat right now.

The first thing you need to do is find out if there's a food bank near you - they will hopefully be able to help you out with some food, which is definitely the most urgent issue, and you should also ask them if they know of any charities/organisations you can go to for financial help/advice. If they don't know of any help available, try looking up something like "help if you can't afford food [your area/county]" (eg. "help if you can't afford food nottingham"). Here are some links that should hopefully be helpful no matter where you live:

Why has your SF been delayed?

It may also be worth making an appointment with your gp, especially as your health is being impacted by this. They might be able to make referalls to services that will help you, but even if not you should make sure that they are aware of the symptoms you are experiencing (the dizziness, tiredness, weight loss).
You might also speak to your uni about a hardship/bridging loan.

Hi there,

I am so sorry to hear this.

I would agree - I think it would be a good idea to talk to your uni as soon as possible. If you have an academic advisor, talk to them about this as they may be able to help you out. It is worth talking to them as soon as you can as your health is so important.

Look at local food banks, there should be something nearby and you are well within your rights to use it. Sometimes people feel like they can't use them, but please do as this is what they are there for.

See if your uni has any kind of donation centre too. The SU will sometimes have a shop where students can get food for free or at a very low cost so maybe have a look into this too.

It is also worth looking at charities nearby as they will help you too. I don't know which ones would be local to you but there will be lots so have a look as they will be more than happy to help you.

If you are living with a parent then why aren't they feeding you. They did when you were at school so can you explain what's changed?
