Oxford MSc in Social Science of the Internet 2026-27

Thought I’d start a thread for this year’s applicants, what are people’s backgrounds, and how’s everyone feeling? I believe we should start receiving decisions around mid-January.

Hey! My upload button disappeared this week, I'm unsure whether to take this as a good or bad sign.

Didn't apply to this course, but I've seen from other threads that it's probably a good thing. Most end up getting an offer soon after. Just stay neutral as it might also mean an early rejection.

I really hope so, either way I doubt I'll hear back formally until early Jan as the admissions office is closed now.

i applied to msc of statistical science (with the same funding deadline as msc of social science), and my button disappeared over a week ago with no email on an offer or not, so unsure of what it actually means

I applied to this course and looks like mine has disappeared as well. I’m going to try and stay neutral and hope it’s not an early rejection 😅

Interesting, what's your context if you don't mind sharing, or do you at least think you had a strong application?

I applied to the part time course. I have quite a few years of experience working in tech so I feel fairly ok about my application, but it could go either way. You?

Yeah similar case here, a few years work experience in a relevant field and I applied for the part-time course. Fingers crossed we hear back soon!

I applied for the full-time course under the November deadline and no upload button disappearance yet. Just thought I'd share for other full-time applicants!

Thanks for this. This week marks the eight-week point, so it seems that applicants from the November deadline will begin to receive their decisions over the next couple of weeks.

Hi there, I applied for social data science for November deadline. My button disappeared on Dec 17, probably will hear back in the next couple of weeks.

Where is the upload button?
Does its disappearance just mean a decision has been made?

Yes, it usually means that decision has been made, though may take some time to be communicated to you. It is in the Supporting Documents page. Did you apply as well?

Yes I applied to SSI
I’m not very hopeful! I can’t see an upload button but I don’t know where it was in the first place!

Also part-time. It looks like quite a few of us have now had the upload button disappear, which would suggest that part-time decisions for the November deadline have been internally finalised, both for offers and rejections. Not sure whether they’ll release part-time decisions first and then full-time, or communicate them together. The wait is definitely nail-biting.
