Music Societies

Hi, i'm thinking of doing a course at Uni and wondered if anyone knew of any Universities that have a lively active music scene?
Hi @JonnyB86,

If you’re looking for a uni with an active music scene, you might want to check out UAL. The Screen School at London College of Communication includes several courses connected to music, sound and creative production.

I'm currently doing an MA in Music Management there, and there's a really lively community of students who are into performing, producing, or just enjoying music. Many colleges host regular monthly events in the bar, where students perform original music, DJ sets or collaborate with others across different courses. It’s a fun way to meet people, share your work or just enjoy the atmosphere.

Beyond that, there are plenty of opportunities to get involved from student-led music groups and collaborative projects to events, screenings, and showcases. Because UAL brings together creatives from so many disciplines, the music scene ends up being really diverse and energetic.

If you’re after a place where you can study and stay involved with live music and creative communities, it’s definitely worth a look!

Hi there,

I hope you are doing well! Southampton has a very active music societies with frequent concerts, gigs, and rehearsals. It depends on what type of music you are interested in. There is a combination of auditioned and non auditioned music societies as well. Some include: concert band, jazz band, symphony orchestra, symphonic wind orchestra, brass band, live music society and so many more. You by no means have to be a music student in any way to join them either! The concerts these societies put on also are often put on termly and are available for anyone and everyone to see. there are student tickets available for all of them too which is always super handy.

Hope this helps!
