Oxford Fine Art Rejection

Hi, Disappointed to get a rejection straightly. My friend got feedback from Ruskin, included in the rejection email, that was suggested him to do an art foundation course, and mine did not include any feedback. Could any one on the same boat, share what your email wrote? Just want to gauge whether it is a normal practice of different colleges (by incorporating Ruskin's comment) or whether my friend really impressed the Ruskin tutors just not as competitive (by suggesting him to take an Art foundation course). Many thanks.

I can't speak college-by-college at Oxford but to be honest I'm a bit surprised they even gave your friend that level of feedback. Usually you will get a flat reason from a university - didn't meet entry requirements, or application not competetive, say - and they'll leave it there. "Maybe do a foundation year" sounds a bit closer to the former than the latter, now that I think about it.

Each college is an autonomous entity, and will have different practices when sending out shortlisting and rejection emails. I wouldn't read too much into what another college wrote.
