Hi @Itsinno13 these sound like really good predicted grades however different universities have quite different entry requirements, especially if they’re a Russel group like University of Manchester.

Here’s a link to their pages to see what kind of grades your looking at:
From looking at their requirements, it looks like you won’t have a problem being accepted to any of these universities except for uni or Manchester which is a Russel group, but it’s always worth visiting them and having a chat with lecturers if you feel like you want some extra assurance and to discuss your options.

Best of luck,

Hi!

Your predicted grades sound great so you should be able to get offers! If you want to know anything about Lancaster I would be happy to help! I'm afraid I don't know much about the course however, as I study Computer Science but can tell you about the uni or city.

Best of luck,

Hey @Itsinno13 ,

Those subjects and estimated grades are perfectly fine for our Business courses! We don't have a preference for A Levels over BTECs - its always best to do a qualification that suits you rather than struggle unnecessarily. Make sure to mention your EPQ on your qualifications section of your application - it has UCAS points! Its also a good way of showing the essay based skills you've got, and how you've done independent research into a project - all things that form a large chunk of your assessments in university.

I'd definitely say go and visit the universities you're considering, just so when you make your firm/insurance choices you know you like the university itself. If you still want to visit us we have one last open day before Christmas on the 13th December - you can book onto that here! We're doing a travel bursary for that one too, so you can look to claim some of your travel costs back after attending. Manchester is lovely to visit around Christmas if you've never been, so I'd definitely recommend considering it!

Good luck with your applications!

Hi again!

Lancaster is a nice small historic city! It has a good range of main shops in the centre but naturally nothing too expansive as it is a smaller city, though more than enough and is quite centralised. I like the city because it has more historical buildings and interesting architecture that makes it feel more cosy than other cities and is nice to be around, also I think the castle is awesome!

The university campus is around ~10-15 minutes by bus from town centre and has very regular buses, making it easy to get around. Lancaster is a collegiate system with loads of accommodation organised into 'colleges' on campus to try to get a smaller community feel and help make friends, which is where most 1st years go. I am in 2nd year and have moved into town but there are plenty of good options here too. Have a look at the different colleges or the student union's Instagram as they regularly post about the different events going on around campus!

Hope that helps,
Zak

Hi there,

Thanks for your question it’s great that you’re already thinking ahead about strengthening your university application. There are plenty of ways to boost your application and personal statement, including:

Free online courses: Try platforms like FutureLearn, The Open University, HubSpot Academy (for marketing & data analytics courses), and Springpod (virtual work experience).

Keep up with business news: The Conversation is written by university lecturers and is clear, accessible, and helpful for developing ideas especially for your EPQ: https://theconversation.com/uk

Business podcasts: A good one is The Diary of a CEO by Steven Bartlett.

When choosing your university options, a useful structure is:

1–2 aspirational choices (slightly above your predicted grades)

2–3 solid choices (in line with your predicted grades)

1 safety option (slightly below your predicted grades)

You may also want to explore our BSc Business Management course at Liverpool John Moores University: https://www.ljmu.ac.uk/study/courses/undergraduates/2026/36125-business-management-bsc-hons

Placement opportunities to gain hands-on work experience

You can watch a short presentation about the course here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CEfgSJvKvt8

We also have excellent student feedback, including:

98% of students say that staff were good at explaining things (National Student Survey 2025)

97% feel well supported in their learning (Discover Uni 2025)

93% agree that staff value students’ views and opinions about the course (Discover Uni 2025)

Our Business School has also won Business School of the Year twice, at both the Educate North Awards and the Times Higher Education Awards.

If you'd like to see more, you can book a campus tour or join one of our virtual sessions: https://www.ljmu.ac.uk/study/undergraduate-students/undergraduate-open-days

Hope this helps! If you have any more questions, feel free to reach out.

University discussions like this really highlight how different everyone’s experience can be. Choice of course, support from lecturers, and even accommodation seem to shape things way more than rankings alone. I’ve noticed people are happiest when they pick somewhere that fits their learning style and lifestyle, not just prestige. Talking to current students and being honest about expectations seems to save a lot of regret later on.
