A Level Chemistry help!!

I’m doing well in biology and psychology, consistent A’s. But chemistry is the one subject I’m unable to do even remotely well at. I thought something would magically click in year 13 as others suggest, but no! Still getting C’s. Please help me 😓

I recognise for chemistry it’s not flashcards like in Biology and Psych. Thus I’m focused more on past papers. But still, no improvements. I did past paper questions (ppq) + chemrevise for thermodynamics and kinetics, still getting 50%.

Did all past papers from 2016 to 2023 for my threshold exams, got a D.

In case you’re wondering how I do the ppq, I do it under timed conditions, closed book, mark once all completed, then memorise the mark scheme.

Pleaseee help me 🙏 I’m aiming for a B for my actual a levels, my teacher thinks it’s a bit of a stretch.

It sounds like you’re doing all the right things, is it the exam questions that confuse you or are you not remembering the content as well? Whichever it is keep focusing on that aspect and with time you’ll see results. It’s also worth going over your past papers to see what subjects or areas you regularly get wrong, you could ask your tutor to do this with you too. Then you’ll get some tailored advice on what you need to be focusing on.

Best of luck and keep trying your doing great
