I did work experience last summer and my school gave us some questions to ask the employees (almost like an interview). My work experience was in a bank so it’s different to yours, i’m assuming, but hopefully these questions are any help to you! I put the employee’s answers just to give you a brief idea.

1. What is your job role?

Corporate banking managers

Private banking managers


2. What are your main responsibilities?

Looking after corporate small medium enterprise (SME) for their banking requirements like property loans, deposits and foreign exchange (FX)

Managing and developing a portfolio of clients

Assess and manage risk on lending propositions

Strong focus on customer service and maintaining relationships


3. What qualifications or training did you need for your job?

Finance degree - accounting, financial and credit analysis

Credit training (bank), legal training (document) and presentation skills (relationship management)

Experience in lending to private banking clients

Finance degree

Written application to job advert, following a referral from an existing staff member

Submit an application online and an interview


6. What are the key skills required for your job?

Strong customer service, communication, organizational, attention to detail


7. What initially interested you in this role?

Working with clients

Meeting clients and finding tailored solutions to their requirements
