Applying for architecture 2026

I have applied for architecture for next year at 4 universities so far (haven’t decided on a fifth yet). The universities are Nottingham, Liverpool, York and Oxford Brookes. My stats are A*AA predicted in art, maths and economics, with GCSE’s 977777666. Is this sensible? My lack of a safety choice is the thing that’s worrying me, and the fact that my GCSE’s aren’t amazingly strong. Do I have a good chance of getting offers?

Your stats are very good so you shouldn't worry about that at all. If you have a good portfolio, you're almost certainly going to get an offer from all of those 4 unis.

Hi @p1nny

It's great to hear that you've applied to York for Architecture 🎉 Hopefully we'll see you on campus next year!

Our typical offer for our BA Architecture course is AAB. Your predicted grades suggest that you're completely on-track to achieve AAB or higher, so I think you stand a very good chance of receiving an offer from us 😀

If you're worried though, I'd recommend that you contact York School of Architecture ([email protected]) directly, as they'll be best placed to advise you.

I hope this helps!
Hannah 😊

Hello, I hope you are well. It is great to hear that you have applied to study at Oxford Brookes University!
Your grades and predicted grades look really strong. The entry requirements for BA Architecture is 136 UCAS Tariff Points, which is roughly equivalent to AAB grades at A Levels. We also require a portfolio and if you need any guidance on this, please visit our webpage here: https://www.brookes.ac.uk/study/courses/undergraduate/portfolio-guidance-for-architecture-applicants
If you have any further questions, please do not hesitate to contact the admissions team by email: [email protected] or telephone: 01865 535000
We look forward to hopefully seeing you on campus soon!
