Can I go from CCD to ABB? A levels chem bio and psychology

I do a level biology (C) - Edexcel A
psychology aqa (C)
and chemistry Edexcel (D)

Biology I always get a C almost B’s - with procrastinated revision
Chemistry I’ve gotten Us and improved to the D by the start of year 13 by actually revising 😭 it’s my weakest naturally too
Psychology only have done 1 mock in year 12 so I got a C

Do you think I can get an A in psychology by 5 months if I always get full or close to full marks in class tests and topics?

Also I need a B in chemistry and biology and I’m super stressed ☹️ Is it actually possible to jump by 1-2 grades if I revise continuously for 5 months?

DEFINITELY YES YES YES, I wasn’t doing great in a lot of my GCSEs but managed to get 6/7’s in the end, then at a level I got chemistry from D/C to A predicted and A’s/A*s all throughout year 13, my advice is use physics and maths tutor flashcards THEN the exam questions for each topic in order to pick up patterns then you’ll slowly start to pick up stuff and be able to apply it in the real exam, PLUS we have 2 psych exams before the first chem and bio one so we have lots of time to just sweat psych revision, GOOD LUCK🤍🤍

Hi there,

It’s great to see that you’re aiming to improve your grades. As a university student myself, I’ve always worked to push my academic performance higher, so you’re definitely on the right path.

The number of hours you study matters, but not as much as the quality of your learning during that time. Studying with focus for a shorter period is more effective than spending an entire day trying to revise without concentration. Taking regular breaks and stepping away from the routine of studying really helps. Personally, I enjoy doing sports to relax and reset my mind, but any enjoyable activity can work.

I’d also recommend keeping a daily study schedule to stay consistent and experimenting with different study methods—such as reading, answering practice questions, or watching educational videos. Variety helps your brain engage with the material in different ways.

And of course, getting good sleep is essential. Our brains aren’t computers—they need rest to process and store information. In fact, research shows that memory consolidation improves during sleep, which boosts learning the next day. Another strategy I use is studying gradually over time and preparing my exam answers in advance based on the exam format and expectations.

I hope that anyone who reads this can help them improve their grades,
Best wishes,
Elmehdi Tahiri - DMU representative
