Wasn't the student union bar part of some large drug bust a few years ago? I've heard rumours :tongue:

Though if you want it you don't really have to go far. The person in the room next to me is a dealer, very convenient if you like that sort of thing :yep:

This thread is slowly putting me off SOAS. I have no problems with people taking drugs recreationally, in general, but to be living next to dealers... um yeah i'd rather not.

Pfft, you'll get that in any university. It's not as if every other person in halls is a drug addict//dealer. Besides, he's a nice person, so why should it matter?

Don't be such an immature baby. This sort of thing happens in most universities. A lot of people in Funwiddy doing weed are just doing it because they think it's the done thing at SOAS and for the sake of being at SOAS, which is a grave mistake, because most people at SOAS don't do it :o:

OP: SOAS is lovely and you'll like it and I personally know around 70% of contributors in this forum (Hikari, Yuffie, LeanneAntonia, jonboyyork etc...) and they're all nice. And loads of people do drugs at SOAS, but loads do it at my uni too. And every uni I know about. It's not a problem at SOAS, it's the same as everywhere.
SOAS is next to Senate house, and it's in a wicked area and it's really pretty. And the people are nice. And I don't even go to SOAS; I'm not biased.
Now, can y'all shut up bout it? :p:

and when did I claim to 'hate' the university?
If you don't warm to people who aren't quite certain about what is arguably the most niche university in the country, then I guess it really is not the place for me.
