Hi there!

I have applied for Paramedic Science this year! The most important things to include in a paramedic science application are your understanding of the role of a paramedic, and what you have done that shows you can interact successfully with other people. I will say paramedic science is very competitive so you need to make sure you application stands out. I did a year of a biology degree which has really helped me, as well as being a community first aider in St John Ambulance. If you have a part time job, mention in and mention how you interact with customers for example. If you play a musical instrument, or dance several times week (other extracurricular activities are available!) mention that and mention the skills you have developed from doing this.

If you have any other questions, please feel free to ask me

how would you recommend i include these? like "when i worked as a retail assistant i developed my communication and organisational skills. since i was the only worker, i handled all customer interactions, which have strengthened my ability to talk to others in a respectful way" like that? also i know it is a big ask but would you be able to read through my personal statement? if not, its fine

The Student Room has a personal statement review service which you can use. I would not be me reviewing it because I am not PS reviewer but there are many lovely PS reviewers on site who would be able to

You can find the link here: https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=4237154

You need to give an example for how you were organised, but the second part is good.

Hey @zyzrui

Here’s a post on paramedic science personal statement tips you may find useful: https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7643898

As already said above, the most important thing is reflecting on experience you do have. It can be difficult to get healthcare experience, but any
customer facing role is just as valuable and has many transferable skills to paramedicine!

If you’re planning on taking a gap year, you could use this time to get some healthcare experience .

If you have any questions about life as a paramedic science student, etc. i’m happy to answer them!

Hi there!

Well done! I didn't apply to UEA, but I can give you more general advice.
I would make sure you know what the HCPC and Royal College of Paramedics does. Try to read some news articles about what is going on in the profession.

I would look for example interview questions because a lot of questions have similarities. It can be useful to have some scenarios in your head about when you have been resilient, dealt with conflict, and reasons why you have chosen paramedic science, amongst other things.

Also have reasons as to why you have chosen a particular university, show that you have done research about them.
