gcse requirement for kcl

I am planning to apply for Business Management at KCL but it requires a grade 6 in maths and I achieved a grade 5. I am apart of one of the K+ programmes and i am predicted AAA and may potentially be moved to A*AA . The programme makes me eligible for a contextual offer of AAB. I was wondering if its still worth applying to since i don't meet the gcse requirement. I did have an extenuating circumstance but i am not sure if it would be classed as severe enough. For a different course that i am applying for at UCL my postcode makes me eligible for a contextual and i was wondering if KCL would see that. I meet all of UCL requirements. Can someone please guide me on what i should do?

Normally if you don't meet the minimum specified requirements ( GCSE 6 in maths in this case), it would be an instant rejection. Rather than wasting an option, it would be better to check your situation with kcl and get their input of whether it is worth you applying and whether you qualify for contextual and if your GCSE minimums are disregarded for that reason. Business mgt at kcl is insanely competitive and gets about 4000 applications so it is hard enough to get an offer in any case.
