help a girl out

ive always struggled with school, i used to average all grade 9s-7s. i just did my first mocks and for a lot of them i got a lot lower. for example in maths i dropped from a grade 8 to grade 4 all of a sudden and i dont know what to do anymore. ive been wanitng to apply to lae stratford and i live all the way in another area of london, ive been looking since year9. and since ive got my results ive been crying my eyes out knowing my only way to escape my life here could potentially be gone because i know how the competition is at lae, theyre gonna obviously pick someone with grade 7s-9s only, and i dont even fit the entry requirements anymore because of maths. ive actually lost hope and i know i sound like another person complaining but this to me is like my whole future crushed and i really wanted to be something in my life by going to this school. in the area i live there is not one outstanding school. i know its not too late but i dont even know if theyd look at my application anymore. please i need help.

Hi,

I’m sorry to hear how stressed you’re feeling. Please remember that one set of mock grades doesn’t define your future. Mocks are there to show you what to work on, not to close doors.

For maths, it can help to use the specification to identify your weak areas. You could use Corbett Maths to watch videos and MathsGenie for topic-by-topic questions before moving on to full past papers. Make sure to practise both non-calculator and calculator papers in timed conditions, as this helps build confidence.

If you feel you need extra support, attending after-school intervention classes or seeking tutoring can make a big difference. Many students improve significantly between mocks and the final exams with focused practice. It’s definitely not too late to make improvements.

You clearly care a lot and have done well in the past. With a clear plan, consistent effort, and extra support if needed, you can bring your grades back up.

Wishing you all the best,

Tayba

hey! im planning to go to LAE as well, im so sorry about the 4 ☹️ my advice would be is to talk to your head of year/ teacher to bump up ur predicted- if u were getting 7-9s in maths, your teachers would 100% vouch for your higher predicted! both your mock and predicteds will be sent to the school from what i believe, and i know you would definitely make it in with your past records. remember that it isnt the end of the world and try to use this as an obstacle to reach success!

so for my predicted grades my school is a really bad private school. its been done up for fraud more than once. but they didnt do curccilums in order and hthey only started triple science from this sepetember which is crazy bc they want to do
UPDATE
both papers in our mocks. anyways i was moving schools constantly so form year9 and 10 i missed all of this private schools work. its REALLY complicated to explain but here are my predicted grade results, except for history because he marked me down two grades for my preditced when i got a 7 on my test because he was talking aout me beising the syllabus which is ashame bc i want to go into law and take history for an a level.
english lit, eng lang, citizenship 9
history (IN MY OPINION) should be a 7/8. i got 7 on my test though so either one, religious 7 for christianity and islam 8, islamic studies 7, bio 8
maths 6 chem 6 physics 6.
im fully aware i need to pick it up w these 6s but i can do it. its just extrememly hard in this school and my situation may pervent me. those are al predicted, i would love to explain how i honestly believe i was robbed except for maths, but like id be here for hours talking about it. thank you guys so much, but i know every way to revise scinces but i always skim the passing rate and im in triple science im so good in clas but on the tests im so bad? i know past papers but like i dont think its applying when it comes to the tests.
