Uni of York 2026-2027 2nd Year Housing: Haven't found roommates? Affordable housing?

Hello, I am asking for a friend who is quite stressed about their second year housing, they are currently a first year at the University of York. They were able to find some friends who wanted to move in, but due to difference in opinions, they are looking for other roommates who would prefer a more affordable yet decent house. According to them, the college had an event for people who were looking for roommates to connect, but it happened very early on and they were not present during then.

I am writing this post wondering if there are 1st years at York who still haven't found roommates, or have a small group of people willing to look for a range of housing? If so, my friend could email Student Accom to request a second roommate networking event for people to get into groups. Thank you!
