Most international foundation programmes in UK are provided by commercial institutes under franchaise/with contract with unis. The courses are normally only recognised by the contract uni and students are "guaranteed" uni places if their results meet the uni's requirements.

NCUK is somewhat "independent", without the "guarantee" and students apply to their target unis. But the course is not very widely recognised

It worths looking at international foundations at KCL, Queen Mary, SOAS, UCL and Warwick which are provided by the unis (not with private institutes). These programmes are more widely recognised and students apply to UK unis via UCAS.

Good luck.
