Cambridge Interview and flu

Hi All,

Was really excited to get my interview next week for Cambridge but I've come down with an awful sickness. It's been a week and my sickness is not gotten better. I feel incredibly guilty for not being able to do any preparation. Given my interview is in person and I have to travel almost 5 hours to get there, it'll be extremely taxing on my body. My throat is the most worrying part being that I can't speak without a lot of pain at the moment. Does anyone know how I can do small amounts of preparation for the interview and any advice in general about being I'll at such a bad time?

I think you should definitely see if you can reschedule, as it's to no one's benefit that you to attend the interview while sick. For little bits of prep, I think you can watch videos on youtube on cambridge interviews, and think about what you might say to some of the questions. There's no point practising speaking if your throat hurts, best to wait till you feel better

Wishing you a smooth recovery. Given how unwell you’re feeling, it may be worth considering whether rescheduling is possible. Cambridge notes that candidates can report illness or other unforeseen issues before the interview, and they may take this into account when arranging an alternative time.

Hiya! TYSM for the reply!! I ended up sending an email with a letter from the doctors explaining the flu I had gotten really impacted my ability to speak. Still tho, I went to the Interview and came out with a really good experience. The interviewers made me feel safe and comfortable as possible even tho I needed to take longer to speak.
