hi! i have my newcastle interview tomorrow for dietetics (so if anyone has any tips on that that would also be great!) Which has got me thinking more about what accommodation id like to choose. Im leaning towards kensington terrace? is anyone in the same boat/already lives there/would reccomend anywhere else? also considering park view
Firstly, congratulations on your interview and I hope it went well! Our dietetics course is amazing as it is accredited by two different organisations (the HCPC and the BDA!) and provides ample opportunities to gain hands-on experience through designated placement weeks.
In regards to accommodation at Newcastle, both Kensington Terrace and Park View are en-suite options so I assume you are leaning more towards that room type. Both options are on-campus but it's worth noting that all of our accommodation is within a 20-minute walk of our campus anyway! At Kensington Terrace, you can share a flat with 7-17 people whereas at Park View you share a flat with 4-8 people so it is worth thinking about how many people you would like to live with.
There are some other accommodations I would recommend looking at too such as Newgate Court which is right in the heart of our city centre meaning you are only a short distance from the train station and the many bars and restaurants that Newcastle has to offer. We also have Portland Green which is located in Ouseburn that has lots of quirky restaurants and activities, including a farm! If you are looking at cost too, Wellington St Plaza and Manor Bank offer en-suite rooms at a slightly lower price than Kensington Terrace and Park View. You can find more information about our accommodation here: Our Accommodation | Accommodation | Newcastle University
Hope this helps! If you have any questions, please feel free to ask 😊
