UCAS economics advice

im thinking of applying for:
Econ Durham - A*AA
Econ at Notts - AAA
Econ at Bristol - A*AA
Econ at Surrey - ABB
Econ at Bath - A*AA

My predicted are A*AA in politics, maths econ. My statement and reference are strong, but my GCSEs are weak: 9877666665. I’m trying to be strategic by knowing I’ll get notts and Surrey then hoping i will get one of Durham, Bristol and Bath. Am I reaching too far?

You only need one offer so I would go for it so long as you would be happy at Nottingham or Surrey which are both good universities. I’ve not been to Surrey but was impressed by Nottingham (for maths rather than economics)

I am so excited to hear that you're interested in studying my subject (Economics) at Durham! When I was in Year 12, I felt the exact same concern about whether or not I'd beat the "competition" and get in to a competitive university like Durham and whether it was even worth applying to but trust me when I said it was so worth applying to Durham at the end. I love my course here, the career support and the strong academic environment that Durham has provided and I know it has definitely pushed me to be better, not to mention how much I love the town and the sense of community you feel.

All I can advise is that you miss all the shots you don't take + admissions teams don't only look at your grades. They take your entire application into account and make a holistic decision on your application.
