Texting a guy

A guy I’ve been texting for a few weeks has stopped replying, I messaged him a few days ago saying “you’re so boring you never text” and he didn’t reply so I followed up saying “whatever do you” and he didn’t reply to that either, I want to text him again but I’m unsure because I don’t want to seem needy and I’m not sure if I already have come across like that. Advice?

Honestly I’d leave it for now. When someone wants to talk they usually show it without you having to chase. I’ve done the whole double texting thing and it never changed anything, it just made me feel weird after. Give it some space, focus on your stuff, and if he pops up later cool, if not then that’s your answer already.
I think you've already burnt this bridge.

We’ve been speaking on FaceTime as well about a week ago and he was saying stuff like “I’ll take care of you” but after those 2 messages I sent he’s completely not responded, do you think he thought I was needy or just lost interest?

just wait for his reply (I don't think he will though)

I think he deserves a bright and breezy text, after those last 2 grumpy texts.
Something like, off the top of my head: "Looks like my cunning plan didn't work 😄 When I said Do You I thought you'd Do Me instead, just to show you're not gonna be bossed about..."
Or some little jokey message related to the last time you saw him.

Or phone him and have a short little upbeat chat with him.
And if he doesn't pick up leave him a voicemail where you sing:
"You dug me out of my grave and Saved my heart from the fate of Ophelia"

If you don't like Swift, sing him a line or two from another song as your voicemail.
Doing this is what's called a "pattern interrupt". He won't be expecting this. He'll be expecting either a sour message, or a begging message or a "no worries" message. He won't be expecting a bit of light hearted singing.
It doesn't matter if you're a good, bad or indifferent singer.

A bit of fun silliness goes a long way.
