Taking gap year, pls give advice

I'll try keep it as short as possible.

Got BBC (maths bio physics), didn't get into firm, taking a gap year, resitting maths, applying to RG unis.

Considering applying for foundation year cause of lower requirements but also means more tuition fees.

Would rather no foundation year. Thinking I'll stick with direct entry and go through clearing if i don't get offers.

Trying for accounting & finance, banking & finance, economics & finance - anything finance really.

Since the gap year started, I: got a job, received certificates for virtual work experiences, am taking online courses for Excel and programming, applied to internships, will get a day of work shadowing at a financial firm - they'll be in my personal statement.

Any advice?
Is there any point in me trying to applying for a foundation year? If I don't get offers, will I have a decent chance to get into a RG uni for finance through clearing?

Hey, first off relax!
Your post sounds that you are worried, and you are just overthinking it.
I would say you deserve a break from doing those a levels, so take a gap year, relax for a couple of months and start fresh :-)
I wouldn't bother with foundation year IF you are good at self-studying the content using the internet (lots of resources available out there if you research) and then doing well at uni no matter which one you go to
And yeah, resitting maths is a good idea - you'll smash it

Sounds like you are already doing a lot, also even if you don't get into a RG uni in the future, dont dwell on it, since I've been to work experience at a top company and most of them didnt even have a degree, let alone from a RG uni. Most of them just had the determination, and with that were able to self study using a computer - this is what jobs are looking for.

So yeah, use the gap year wisely, but also take a break first off to relax your mind which is more important

Good luck
