Hi Anon,

Happy to see you're considering YSJ! 🙂 Hopefully you can find someone on here who can give you their honest opinion. I've reached out to some students I know to see if I can get you some first-hand information for our BA Acting course. From what I can see, it looks like 4.5 hours per week are dedicated to skills improvement / practical activity. Also, if you go on our website and click on "course structure", you can see what modules you'd be taking, both theory and practical.

Sorry I can't offer you more! If anyone gets back to me I'll be sure to pass on their opinions to you. But in the meantime if you have any other questions about our uni I'd do my best to answer them

Best wishes,

Hello,

One of our students reached out to me to pass on this information to you about the course:

The course is almost 100% practical - most theory work they've done so far is a research statement. It's very hands on, and you learn a lot about practitioners/style as you go on. The lecturers are very lovely but definitely tend to keep on top of your attendance! Class size is around 20, so it's not huge, but not small enough that it's drab. In practicals, they do a lot of devising and creating themselves, but there's a lot of script work too. They also have yoga as one of their modules which they found super interesting, but quickly realised the benefits in unifying the group.

I hope this was helpful! If you have any more questions I'd be happy to pass them on or do my best to answer them myself
Best wishes
