Long course maintenance loan

I’m studying with the college of integrated Chinese medicine. It’s been a back and forth but we now qualify for a long course maintenance loan in our final year as the last year is 15months long. Usually the long course is included in the maintenance loan calculation but we only just been informed. Will student finance automatically pick this up or do I have to apply separately for this?

yes for the 25/26 academic year. Studying BSc acupuncture at the college of integrated Chinese medicine. HSU is our awarding body.

My last class is the 24th November 2026.

My student finance was approved 29July 2025.

The course is 3.5 years. I started October 23, I end November 26. The exact course name is Acupuncture BSc(hons). I study at the college of integrated Chinese medicine (CICM) and the university who awards our degree is health sciences university.

The database that is updated by the university shows that this course year runs from 29 Sep 2025 until 25 Aug 2026 which is a long course. This would automatically be included in the assessment for the extra weeks. Courses generally do not run into the next academic year however, if the university is advising it runs over this, they would need to update the database to confirm the correct duration.
