Hii, Im a term into OCR chem as well, and I get what you mean with struggling, since the grade boundaries are really high, thanks to OCR.

A key tip is consistently doing questions from different sources, like PMT, savemyexams, any question you find practically. Also, you could try and do questions from other boards since their topics are really similar to OCR. It would be really helpful to repeat questions you’ve done wrong a couple of days later, since it would really help that section stick. Also the most important thing is learn the mark schemes. Most markschemes are repeated, so it would be really helpful to know exactly what they want you to say.

Your gcse grade does not define what you get in a-levels, since you could do really well in GCSEs and do bad in your a level or vice versa. So I think an A* would be very achievable if you put in the effort. I know sometimes we put in a lot of work and revision into a test and we still don’t get an A*, since that seems to be happening a lot, but consistency in revision and questions is important and we haven’t had much time to do that.

The struggle is real  I’m mostly basing this off advice from a friend who did their exam this year and got an A*
