Can I apply without references for Grad Med

I would like to apply to Ulster university for Grad med using the GAMSAT. I've been out of college for a few years and my course was completely irrelevant to medicine. My cohort was huge and I never interacted with any of my lectures, so they won't give me a reference. I've been working jobs, I'm working in an office at the moment, but the employers won't give references at all. I really don't think there is anybody suitable to give a reference. I'm not from the UK, so I'm not sure if these are mandatory or actually important?
This is up to the individual unis you're applying to.

Even if it isn't an explicit requirement, you'd generally be expected to lean on relevant work exp throughout the MMI process.

You have to put a reference on your ucas form and that’s the only way to apply for gem, whether you only apply to one uni or all four. I think it may be worth contacting your old uni and seeing what they advice

Without solid work experience it is very hard to get into GAMSAT, the work experience can give a reference. Eg get a job in a hospital to exposes you to hospital wards.....
