Clearing for university enquiry

Hi everyone, I want to ask the realistic average grade drops and unis that offer clearing, I've heard many things like top russel groups dropping to Cs grades from As, If anyone could give any information about clearing it would be much appreciated. I am not happy with my UCAS grades and am having to apply to universities I personally don't want to go to. Due to this I am relying on clearing otherwise I will have to take a gap year and apply with my real grades.

Its all a bit of an urban myth.
Any course asking for A grades is unlikely to need to be in Clearing because there won't be any spaces -and the stories of 'my cousin's goldfish got into XX Uni with three C grades' are essentially just that, stories.
To get the course you really want, the best strategy is to work your socks off - really work, don't just play at it - and if you get high grades apply next year. Do not rely on Clearing - its unpredictable, totally stressful, and you are not guaranteed Uni accomodation. Best avoided.
