Offers

Hello, when applying to university at the beginning of December, how likely is it to receive offers for a course like law before the end of the month?

These are my choices:
Nottingham
Surrey
Exeter
Lancaster
Cardiff

Thank you!

hi! as far as i know for law, exeter and nottingham have been pretty fast, i think it could be likely to get an offer within the next two weeks - but im not sure if unis still roll out offers during their break over christmas!

good luck!!

There is real no way of knowing. It does take longer if you apply in Dec/Jan simply because of that is when most other people apply and the deluge slows everything down. All you can do is be patient and wait - and try not to keep checking your phone, it will drive you nuts.

Thank you for your advice; I’ve honestly been checking my emails every hour, its so nerve racking because I know other people have gotten offers, however I am aware of the competitiveness of the course I’m applying for. It’s a waiting game I suppose!

Hello @Rose_15th!

It is hard to say as it really depends on a lot of factors such as the current demand and the time of the year. The University of Nottingham is processing offers every day!

Note that from December 24th to January 2nd the institution will close due to the holiday period 😁.

All the best,
Student Rep Abián #UoN.

Hi @Rose_15th

It's great you are eager to hear back from your chosen universities, however I recommend trying to distract yourself from it as it can be a long wait! Universities have till mid-may to respond, and it is difficult to predict because every university and course can differ in the time frame.

For example, I received an offer at the start of October for a business course, however a friend applying for the same course at the same university a year before received the same offer around March time. So it can vary each year.

Some universities start sending offers straight away, while others wait for a larger-pool of applicants.

The most important thing to remember is it does not matter when everyone else receives their offers. Your application will be given equal consideration, even if offers have already been sent out.

I recommend focusing on your studies and hobbies to distract yourself from waiting.

I hope this helps, please feel free to ask me any questions,
-Sophia (University of Lancashire)

I’m sure it will come through, I have friends applying for different degrees at Cardiff and they haven’t heard back either. x

nottingham is fast so you will hear back within a week, but since law is a bit more competitive, could take 2 weeks is what im predicting
