Year 9 Lock In+Habits GYG

Trying to get better at studying... not going great. We are currently doing gcse material but haven't fully picked options, but ik what I wanna do, so i will prioritise those.

Goals:
Get >90% on all tests
Study consistently >5 hours a week
Complete all homework the day it was given (or day after)
Figure out how I like to study

I need to be held accountable but i hate people telling me what to do, so here i am, will try to update as often as possible!
Any advice?

Hey! I'm currently in year 11 and honestly my best advice would be to not start properly revising for GCSE's yet. Revise for assessments coming up to try do well but you will get burnt out if you start now. I started doing some in year 10, and now consistently revise a few hours daily and get around 90% on most tests.

The WORST thing you can do is get burnt out, its horrible.:naughty:

As for finding what works well for you, I would trial using past papers, flashcards and just blurting.
For flashcards, I recommend an app called "anki" if your using an apple device, or "ankidroid" if your using a samsung device.
Ask your teachers to print a past papers, time yourself and see if you can maintain concentration throughout it all ( I don't use them alot because I zone out too much :bawling:)
honestly though, really don't stress yet, you have literal years. :dancing2:
I use blurting alot for english poems and just yap subjects (e.g history or spanish)

I kind of get where ur coming from but i do need to start. Im also counting doing hw so its not like proper proper. The school im going to is very competitive and ive realised i can get burnt out but i am doing this mainly for tbe habit rather than actual intensive study. I also want to figure out how to study but our school basically gives us one small assesment in maths and science per half term, and considering im in set 1 for everthing they are still really easy. Thanks for the reply and i will keep this in mind, not trying to be aggro or anything, just giving some more context.

UPDATE:
I've done a french listening past paper in the afternoon, and got 46 percent... tbf its my worst part of french.
Then I took a break and just chilled, then around 5 I started my maths hw and acc learnt something new but i was still tough so I wrote some notes on it to look back later, then for and hour or so i just did extra maths and then at the very end of my around 3 hour session (50/10) I did some science revision as we are starting a new topic.
All in all it was fun, planning on getting 1 hour revision in for what i did today for maths tmr and might try go over my french more!

I've been looking at it simply because I get the notification lol. But all Im thinking is that you seem to overstress yourself way to early tbh. You will probably forget most of this by the exams
