Essex Uni closes Southend campus

"The University of Essex announced plans on Tuesday to close its Southend campus at the end of next summer and cut 400 full-time jobs - around a fifth of the current workforce - as it tries to tackle a £23m deficit."

So, 800+ students will transfer to Colchester to complete their courses. And, however the Uni tries to dress this up, the staff cuts combined with increased student numbers will impact Student Services and other University facilities at Colchester.

Are they reducing student intake next summer, eg don't be as despate to take everyone with a heartbeat at clearing?

Always have the issue that the cheapest course to run (eg socal "science") are the least useful, so have lease demand.
