Chances of offer for St Andrews Maths?

I’ve got 5 A grades predicted at Higher and have contextual/fair access flags for care experience and living in quintile 1 in Scotland. Having received an offer from Edinburgh University as well as Aberdeen for Mechanical engineering. My application to St Andrews is for Maths, but no Advanced Highers. Has anyone with a similar background had an offer? How long did it take to hear back?

hey! was your personal statement focused on engineering?
i've also applied to the same universities as you, and my whole personal statement is about engineering, and i decided to apply to standrews for maths - im very stressed they wont even consider my application because of it

Yeahh I made some changes towards the second question that was more focused on abstract maths as well as trying to make it seem like my end goal was engineering rather than just maths or engineering. But I have a friend who’s statement was solely about engineering and he’s in st andrews for maths now so i think it really depends on your application a whole. I was just mainly worried I won’t be considered because I don’t have any advanced highers

That's a relief tbh!!Ii only mentioned maths VERY briefly in Q2.
i wouldnt worry about not having advanced highers - st andrews doesnt ask for any 🙂
i only do advH maths and no university has given me a conditional on it so im sure you will be fine, especially since you have widening access!
what engineering did your friend apply to? i feel like mechanical links closely with maths, and my ps is about chemical engineering 😥
also (sorry for so many questions) but what was your friends grades like in s5?

but what were your nat 5 grades like? i was looking over the st andrews website and i saw you needed two Bs in nat 5 english and another subject from a list
i got some B's in nat 5 but none of them were on that list 😀 abit stressed icl
