Optometry

Anyone that does a degree in optometry could you tell me how much maths is involved?
Would I need to do A level maths to understand or is it fine

Hey
I'm an Optom 2nd year
There is only one module in 1st year where maths is important which is geometric optics, and then maths kind of goes away after that as you don't really use it on the job too much.

I did an access course before uni, so no maths a-level and I got the highest score on the module.

I'd say the most important things you might want to look at are rearranging equations, step-along, and then just going over the material lots of times and you should be fine.

It was the 1st year module that most people had to re-sit, so it would probably be beneficial to do some pre-reading/ get some a-level maths books beforehand
