crash higher computing
Hi! I'm planning on taking adv higher maths and physics next year and was looking for any input on whether crash highering computing would be difficult as someone how hasn't ever taken computing (not at S3 level or nat5) and has only taken graphics (nat5) and admin (S3) thank you!

Hey! I take higher computing, and although I’m not crashing it a few people in my class are and they are doing really well! Might be worth looking through achieve/bbc bitesize during summer or asking teachers for nat5 summary notes to catch you up to speed. Overall I would definitely say it is definitely do able, and definitely not the hardest subject to crash (coming from someone currently crashing higher chem lol)

Haha many people have told me the same 😂 tbh it’s not too bad as I managed to do a lot of nat 5 work during summer and it in a weird way became a hobby for me (typing that out and realising I’m such a big nerd lol)
Another thing I would recommend for computing is asking your teachers what language you are taught to code in and maybe following some basic tutorials on YouTube. My school does Visual Basic, though I know a lot of others do python so worth checking out. It might also be worthwhile finding out whether your school teaches database or web, as for computing you study the mandatory software and computer systems units then choose either the database or web section. We covered both at Nat 5 and just chose what section we wanted in the exam, but for higher we are just doing database for simplicities sake (I miss web tho icl 🥲, much more fun creating websites than databases). i’m taking advanced computing right now, and i’d say it’s totally doable if you’re willing to put in the work (id suggest learning basic/N5 content before starting the course)
i had a handful of crashes in my higher class, and while i don’t know how they did, they really struggled due to not putting in the effort
