Oxbridge

Do I still have a chance at oxbridge (Oxford mainly) if my GCSEs aren’t particularly good around 7 8 9s with a max of some but mainly 8 and 9s. If I’m predicted 3A* with maybe a fourth A*. Thanks

I've been shortlisted for an interview with 577788888899, you can do it! Just fill your application with loads of supercuriculars

yes, of course you do - depending on your course of course (things like medicine, probably not due to competition but you have a good chance for most courses). i had 999888887777 (that’s 8 A*, below the average number of successful applicants for my course) at gcse, only A*AA preds and i’m currently awaiting interview for experimental psychology  though i’m sure my TSA score was a big part of it (due to the weighting on it for shortlisting), i’m sure if you do well on your entrance exam too you’ll have a solid chance!

I've applied for chemistry. Basically read around your subject, recent discoveries and hot topics in the academic sphere. Try to get some work experience, I emailed loads of companies and labs with my CV and managed to get some relevant work experience. Read things you find interesting, I read what makes chemical reactions happen. What are you applying for so I can give you some more relevant tips

Planning on applying for physics however I’m away for all of summer which I’m considering not doing as it will negatively impact my chances I think

Your travel plans will have no impact on your chance of success.

For medicine the GCSE entry requirements are the highest with the average being 9A*.

However, you've got mostly 8s and 9s and that's sufficient for most courses.

Remember the admissions test is a huge factor too and will make a difference to your application too.

Oxford like most universities give offers based on your top 3 A-Levels.

I wonder which course you're considering at Oxford? 😧

But I’m doing a gap year and by the time I’m back I will have about a month to do my personal statement and revise for the PAT
