Ok so I have received an offer and know that my background checks will be conducted by verifile. From the forum I have gathered that verifile generally asks for 1 education, 1 employment and 1 personal reference.

However, am confused about the following:

1) I have been to 2 schools (1 in UK and 1 in India) and 2 universities (both in UK). So how does it work, what education contact should I provide?

2) Will I have to provide contact details for ALL schools, universities, employer etc attended? Also, am I meant to provide contact details or just name of the insitution and verifile gets the contact from its database?

3) How does verifile work? do they call/email/fax every single school/university/employer you have been with? If yes, do I have to let all of them know that they will be contacted?

Anyone who has been through the process and can shed some light to this, I will greatly appreciate. I have just received my credit report from experian and all is in order for that.

For me, I put down my student services centre for my university and a personal reference from someone I know. I had worked somewhere, but they didn't ask about that. Then a few weeks before I started work they phoned up and just wanted details about where I worked, who they can contact etc. Then they sent my manager an email and he just had to tick a box to say I was ok and fax that back.

Its no real big deal, and I think they just want confirmation that you didn't lie about where you worked and what uni you went to.

I didn't do a credit check or anything like that, suppose deloitte do that themselves anyway.

I received my offer 3 weeks ago now and still haven't received an email from verifile. Can anyone tell me if this wait is usual, due to the festive season or should I contact them? Has anyone been through the process yet this year?
