I am planning to apply for Management or International Management undergraduate course at University of Bath. I am eligible for a contextual offer since i meet all their requirements. Does this mean the grade they would have expected me to get at GCSE for maths to be lowered? please let me know. i have achieved 7s and 6s but a 5 in maths.
On their course web page for this couse for contextual applicants, they say that they may be able to consider applicants with grade 4/C in Maths. So you should be fine if you're contextual.

Hi there,
At Bath, we take a holistic approach to assessing UCAS applications. Every element, academic history, predicted grades, subject combinations, personal statement, and academic reference, is carefully considered before a final decision is made. In addition, we have a dedicated Admissions Progression Team who review applications where extenuating circumstances may have impacted a student’s academic journey. This ensures that our decisions are informed by the context in which each applicant has been studying. That said, our Management courses are highly competitive and consistently oversubscribed. As part of our selection criteria, we typically require at least a grade 6 (or B) in both GCSE Mathematics and English. In some cases, these requirements may be mitigated if the applicant is pursuing Maths at a higher level - such as Core Maths, AS Level, or A Level. We usually advise students to consider retaking GCSE Maths and/or English if they do not meet these thresholds. While we understand this may not have been part of your original plan, doing so could significantly strengthen your application. Although we cannot predict the competitiveness of this year’s applicant pool, historically we have been very limited in making offers to candidates with a grade 5 in GCSE Maths, even where substantial mitigation has been submitted. Should you decide to apply, we strongly encourage you to engage with our mitigating circumstances process as soon as your UCAS application is submitted. Full details can be found here: Understanding mitigating circumstances for undergraduate applicants We understand this may be disappointing, but we hope this information helps clarify our process.
