Clearing

I have a question. For brief context, I am not applying to KCL right now because my predicted grades are too low for my desired programme, so I'll be waiting for clearing. However, I'm an IB student, so I do get my results very early - like a couple of days after clearing opens and I plan on using that to my advantage. If I get the necessary grades required for my desired programme at KCL, is it possible to apply before A-level results are released, or do I have to wait until then to act? Because I also need a visa, and I can't start the visa process until I have my CAS issued to me. And in order to acquire a CAS number, I need an offer from a university. Also, do I need to call them, or is an email fine, or is there any way I can apply through UCAS? Any advice and suggestions are much appreciated!
If they are taking part in early clearing, then yes, you can apply with your IB results in hand rather than waiting for AL results day.

Whether you need to call or they have a web form to complete depends on how each uni handles clearing.

How far are your predictions from the standard offer?

I'm interested in their digital media and culture programme, but they require a 35 overall or 17 points in HL subjects, and I have 32 overall with 16 in my HLs, so it's not worth applying to. Also, I don't qualify for contextual offers. I'm still considering applying for their IFP, but it's expensive, and I don't want to have to spend an extra year in university.

Honestly, I’d apply anyway unless you’ve got five other strong options. Best case you get an aspirational offer, (and they can choose to accept you as a near miss on results day if needs be), worst case they reject you and you’re in no worse a position anyway.
