Commuting

I plan to live in Slough and commute to Royal Holloway for the classes but I am not sure about the travel, are there any buses or train that will take me there and how much time would it take?
Also let me know if it would be easy for me?

Hello,

Commuting from Slough to Royal Holloway is fairly straightforward, and lots of students choose this option! I've detailed some convenient routes below:

🚆 By Train - there isn’t a direct train from Slough to Egham, but the route is still quick and easy:

Slough Windsor & Eton Riverside
Change at Staines
Staines Egham

Once you arrive, the walk from Egham Station to campus takes around 20 minutes, or you can take the £1 subsidised campus shuttle bus, which gets you here in under 10 minutes.

🚌 By Bus - you can take the First Berkshire route 8 from Slough to Egham, which runs every 30 minutes and takes around 38 minutes end-to-end. The main bus stop in Egham is right outside campus, so it’s very convenient.

If you’d like to chat directly with a current student who commutes, you can connect with them here: 💬 Chat with a commuting student. There's also lots of information about life as a commuter student on our website

Best wishes,
