The Student Room Group

Myucat = DO NOT RECCOMEND

Hey guys , I just wanted offer advice to any future students who's doing medicine or dentistry .

I want to share my experience with this UCAT programme so other students can make an informed decision. The support provided was extremely limited, generic, and not personalised, despite the high cost. Group chats were unprofessional, with constant self-promotion and negative comments about other companies, creating an uncomfortable environment. Even after raising concerns, the company’s responses felt dismissive, and they only offered a refund which, looking back, felt more like a way to prevent honest feedback than to genuinely address the issues. Based on my experience, I would strongly advise against using this company. You are far better off seeking guidance from genuine students already in universities who will give honest, helpful support and advice, rather than paying for this programme.

Very sorry to hear about your experience, but I'm glad they gave you a refund. They do get very good reviews... We were considering it, but decided not to pay in the end, as we found some free mock MMI opportunities in London. We are now regretting a bit not signing up for it.

My DD's best friend is currently doing their medical interview programme and they are absolutely happy and can't stop raving about it. He's applied to Cambridge and has already been interviewed. I was impressed to hear what's included - not only that they are doing the main interview prep course and small group practice each week, but are also offering daily interview practice, where students do optional extra interview practice with peers. They also include weekly A-level bio, chem, and I think maths prep courses.

Sorry if you have had a negative experience. Personally, I think they are great… used for Ucat and thought it was a very supportive network… yes the group chat notifications were on another level but it’s a group chat and a place for students to share ideas …but then you can choose to mute or not be in that particular chat. It was nice to know at whatever time you could ask a question and get something back.. had no hesitation signing up for the interview programme , extra lessons for maths/chem/biology which can attend live or watch back if wanted and daily breakout rooms for interview practice as well as 4 1-1 sessions for mock interviews.small buddy groups of 6 students meeting each week .for the number of hours of mentoring , I think it’s worth it…
Never put under any pressure to buy the package
Was very much personalised with strategic application help and individual advice

As above, I think they are good and offer lots of free stuff like ucat prep. I have never paid for anything from them but all of the free stuff was very good and the person who runs it is very professional and good at what he does. I couldn't imagine their paid stuff would not follow this trend.
You seem as if you are angry about something more than just the company, what has went wrong in your application?

nothing went wrong with my application 😂.
Its just their programme needs to be improved a lot .
imagine myf friend is still owed a one to one lesson , despite countless message they aired her and once she wrote. anegtave review , they chased her down and tried to pressure her to take down her review in order to have her lesson and to try convince mien to be taken down . I just dont like when things go unfair for people

here is my review which will make sense to u guys but its condensed :

Myucat was aware of my negative experience and did issue a full refund, which I appreciated, but the way it was handled made it feel as though the refund was given to prevent honest feedback rather than address the concerns I raised. The support I received did not reflect what was promised: the content was generic and repetitive, individual guidance was minimal, and group chats were often unprofessional, with self-promotion and negative comments about other companies. I was mainly supported by one tutor, with another only helping to arrange a session, and the claim that I had “several” one-to-ones or contacted “many” tutors is inaccurate. I messaged privately because I was sharing personal information, which should be accommodated in a programme of this price. My friend is still owed a one-to-one session, showing wider issues with accountability. It is disappointing that instead of acknowledging these problems, the company has tried to report my honest review—despite other reviews naming the founder without issue. I have every right to share my genuine experience so that students and parents can make informed decisions, and I have evidence of everything stated. My intention is not to argue but to provide truthful feedback so the programme can improve.

I just want future students to know my experience , you dont need to agree or disagree with this

Had 2 1-1s to use… if you wanted to use it for Ucat it just had to be booked with your tutor. I didn’t use any for Ucat. I was able to use one for personal statement advice and my second one which k had not used I will
Use as a 1-2-1 interview session.
There are other students who have not used their sessions and have filled a form in to use them as mentoring sessions.maybe if they have one left they can use it as an interview prep session?

We have had an amazing experience with MYUCAT. They go over and above to help students. Considering what they provide, their price is minimal!

😂 no… I don’t work for my Ucat !! I’m paying for the services!! Everyone is on their own journey. At the end of the day, whatever is meant to be will be but I think to have the support there in my opinion is just such a reassurance, I can’t imagine any other paid platforms giving as much support. Good luck to all

I am not sure where this is coming from. I think that the programme’s resources have been great and very comprehensive. I disagree with what you have been saying.

I shared my experience, not asked for approval. If it doesn’t resonate with you, you’re free to move on. 😂

No need to be so rude and arrogant bro. Just sharing my experiences too and a little puzzled about what you said
