Can I do a teaching degree without 2 alevels

I’m currently doing 2 alevels and a btech extended certificate in health and social care

There’s a chance that next year I’ll have to do an as level instead of an alevel meaning I’ll only have one alevel, an as level, and a btech

Is there any degree at university I could do with these qualifications? Would I be able to do a teaching degree or teacher training?

Thanks

Hi @Caspcasp33

I would recommend working out what your UCAS points would be if you got your predicted grades for that combination of subjects. You could then use this to check on UCAS / university websites whether you meet the entry requirements for the courses. It is also a good idea to check if each university has any specific subject requirements or a limit on how many qualifications they will consider.

Sorry that this is not the most specific answer, however it will very much depend on your specific circumstances, including what grades you get and what universities you are interested in. Hopefully this will help anyway!

Obviously, any Unis asking for 3 specific grades are no longer an option, but there may be lower level Unis that might still be possible. As above, all you can do is work out if your likely grades from 1 A level, 1 AS level and a BTEC certificate meet the UCAS points requirements for any QTS courses at those sort of Unis..

Be aware that there are other ways of working in education or working with children, and that if you are already struggling academically, these roles may be more suitable than a teaching degree/career :
