Glasgow & Edinburgh Vet applicants 2026 Entry

I just thought I’d do a thread here as it’s easy to lose the Scottish universities in the main thread. Who has heard back from Edinburgh and Glasgow so far ?

That’s a shame about Edinburgh. Is she a Scottish student or ruk? I think the waiting’s difficult for them they’ve all tried their best bless them. Hopefully we will hear back from Glasgow soon x

The waiting is awful 😖 she has in her mind that she's definitely not getting an interview but fingers crossed she's still in with a wee chance. She's Scottish, how about you?

Annas a Scottish student, she took a year out as she wasn't ready for uni so went on a worldwide vets trip to south africa to get more life experience and actually got lots of hands on experience which she only completed in November. She doesnt want to be too far away from home so has only applied to the 3 scottish uni's for vet and has applied to St Andrews as a back up for biology. We've had an interview for SRUC but edinburgh would be her top choice we've been at the horse side as clients and she really likes the way that the professors were teaching the final year students and explaining everything to them. I think she also wanted to make sure she got her BB at advanced higher before applying. She's already said she's got no idea what else she would want to do if she doesnt get in. Glasgow did say that they would come back to us by the 23rd of December and i havent seen anyone on here saying they have interviews from Glasgow yet. There were two people on Reddit who said that they had received interview invites before sitting the ERT which is strange as its compulsory for everyone - so who knows.

North American applicant: Interview was two weeks ago but I applied via VMCAS in mid-September. ERT was early October; just was accepted the other day. I believe they're interviewing into January. Definitely considering the program although it'd be a year longer than Bristol which offered the grad-entry four year program. Interview with Nottingham this Friday. Very nervously waiting on RCVS after interviewing in November. Good luck to all ... quite the stressful process--and slow with UCAS!
