Hi everyone! I have just started year 12 and I am doing Politics a level. I’ve been wondering what is the best way to revise for this a level as I am aiming for A’s and A*s!!

Hi @bananaaa123,

It's great that you are looking for ways to do your best in revising for your a-levels. I haven't studied this a-level but just wanted to mention some ways I revised and what worked for me and didn't. The main thing I learnt whilst studying for a-levels and university was that everyone studies differently. I tried different ways of revising until I found the way that works for me.

It's okay to experiment and the sooner you find what works for you the better. We are all different so we absorb information differently too. For me, it was making my revision visual as I am a visual and creative person. Watching videos on YouTube also was something that worked for me, so that is worth a shot.

I know many students use iPads or digital platforms to make notes and revise but for me using a pen and paper worked better. It's all about staying organised and on top of your work. Using a digital calendar or physical one but timetabling in revision will help.

Lastly, I would say implement regular breaks. This is something I didn't do to start with as I thought I wouldn't get as much done but instead taking regular breaks allowed me to stay focused and motivated. Even a small 5-10 minute walk or a cup of tea and a change of scenery worked for me. Experiment if you can and figure out what works for you.

Hope this helps,
^Zac
